At Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, Google and McLaren Racing announced the expansion of their technology partnership ahead of the Formula 1 season. The partnership will see McLaren increase its integration of Google’s cloud, AI and device technologies in its racing operations.

McLaren will use Google Cloud to analyze race data and help optimize performance. The Formula 1 team will use artificial intelligence to make the racing process more efficient.

McLaren will continue to use Chrome as the default browser in its cars and Samsung Android devices. Beyond that, it will now also start using Google Pixel smartphones. In this way, the race team will strengthen communication and data access both on the track and in the factory.

Elon Musk rebelled against Microsoft for Windows

Famous businessman Elon Musk criticized Microsoft with his post on his X (Twitter) account.

To showcase the partnership, Google Chrome, Android and Pixel branding will be featured on McLaren’s 2024 F1 car, the MCL38. It was also stated that these brands will be featured on team uniforms and driver overalls. It was also stated that the renewed MCL38 can be tested in the McLaren demo area.

Google Vice President Nick Drake spoke about the partnership between the two organizations. He explained that Google shares the values of “innovation, performance and inclusivity” with the McLaren Racing team. This means that technology can create new heights in racing.
